Hello, my name is Dr. Daniel Cocks and I am a chiropractor practicing in White Marsh, Maryland. I want to thank you for visiting our site on the web! The fact that you are here, means that you are looking for help. Before we get into how chiropractic can help you, I would like to tell you how chiropractic has helped me. When I was a sophomore in high school at John Carroll in Bel Air, I was hurt playing football. To make a long story short, I was flipped upside down and landed on my head during practice and began suffering severe neck pain and near constant muscle spasms in my back and shoulder. Of course I followed the same recommendations as many of you probably have........you know, ibuprofen, prescription pain killers, muscle relaxers, and heat. When that did not work, I went through the rounds of physical therapy. When that did not work, I went back to the pain killers, etc.......I did this for 11 years! There were days when I would try to stand up only to be greeted by a sharp stabbing debilitating pain.
I was at a loss. It was now 1999 and I was beginning to feel as though I would have to "live with it" as they say. A friend of mine who was a chiropractic student at Life University in Atlanta, GA suggested I give chiropractic an opportunity. Like many I was a skeptic. I did not know much about chiropractic, but I was at a point where I would do anything. It was the best thing I had ever done for myself. After receiving several adjustments I began to improve. For the first time in 11 years I could see a light at the end of the tunnel. What happened next surprised even me. Remember that old Remington Microscreen electric razor commercial where the guy says he liked the product so much that he bought the company? Well I was so pleased with my chiropractic results, I became a chiropractor myself! While I knew how chiropractic had helped me, I learned through my chiropractic education how far reaching the chiropractic adjustment can be for whole body health, not merely pain relief.
As a student, I became active and involved in the Gonstead System of Chiropractic, which is considered to be the gold standard in Chiropractic techniques. I served as Vice President and Treasurer of Sherman College's Gonstead Study Club and Historian of Life College's Gonstead Study Club.
I returned to the Baltimore area in January of 2004 to start my career as a chiropractor. Shortly after I returned, I met my wife. In June of 2009 we welcomed a new addition to our family, our beautiful little girl Isabella Marie was born on June 25, 2009. Isabella also received her first chiropractic adjustment on June 25, 2009 and has been a regular chiropractic patient ever since.
